With Optum being acquired by a US company, a new Optum service provider will be opening up in the United States.
According to an announcement by the company, the company will no longer provide the Optum Service Provider (OSP) program.
The OSP program provides free telephone, email, internet and data services to qualifying customers in the US.
The company said that it plans to close the OSP service provider in late 2019.
The decision to end the OSPA program was made to provide Optum with a better opportunity to compete with the likes of Verizon Wireless and AT&T.
The new company will continue to offer Optum services, however.
“This is a very difficult time for Optum as we begin to implement this transition to a new provider,” said Eric Wieger, CEO of Optum.
“Optum’s service is one of the largest and most trusted providers of broadband internet and mobile services in the world.
Optum said that the company is no longer offering the OpticPhone service. “
We wish the Optimum family the very best in the future.”
